Updated over a year ago

What breed is this profile for?

To select the breed for this profile, start typing the name of the breed:

Select the breed you are after, and once selected you'll see a purple box with the corresponding breed:

What if my dog breed isn't there?

Some dog breeds might be missing from the list as it will be the first time that a breeder as signed up to the platform that breeds that type of dog. When this happens, please email support@rightpaw.com.au and request the breed to be added.

For a purebreed dog to be added, it must be recognised by a national kennel club, please see the Dogs Australia breed list (click here to view) or the American Kennel Club's breed list (click here to view) to see a list of purebreed dogs.

RightPaw will not accept a breed as a purebreed dog unless a member national kennel club affiliated with the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) recognises it as a breed.

Crossbreeds (mixed breeds) can be included in RightPaw, they will fall into the cross breed category - please email support@rightpaw.com.au and request the breed to be added. Please advise what the mix is (for example Cavoodle - Cavalier x Poodle).

Note: RightPaw reserves the right to refuse to add a crossbreed dog breed into our platform.

What if I have multiple breeds:

You can add multiple breeds under the same account in RightPaw:

  1. Finish this breed listing first by completing all tabs;

  2. Once you click "complete listing" after adding your photos you will be taken to a draft (preview) of your listing;

  3. Book in your welcome call (click here to find out more about this);

  4. Then click your profile photo (or initials) in the top right hand side, and click "New Breed" to start a second and subsequent breed listing.

Why does RightPaw feature pure breeds and cross (mixed) breeds?

At RightPaw, we believe that responsibility can exist across all breeds - both pure-bred and cross-bred. We want to bring transparency to the whole landscape, and promote great breeders who engage in responsible practices across health, behaviour, socialisation and more.

All our breeders are verified independently by our team and against our Code of Ethics, developed by breeders and vets together. We believe it's important to provide this transparency, and help all potential puppy owners on their search. You can read more about our position on this.

Name for this breed profile:

RightPaw creates profiles by breed, so each breed profiles will be for one breed only.

This is so that puppy searchers can find you easier when searching by their interested breed.

If you have multiple breeds, you can create a separate breed profiles later on.

For better search exposure, we recommend that you add the breed into your name e.g. Rynkls Chow Chows instead of Rynkls Chows and Shar Peis.

Introduce your breeding program:

This section should be a brief introduction about your breeding program.

Things to include in your introduction:

  • Brief introduction about yourself and your breed;

  • Your credentials, certifications and/or awards won;

  • Brief info about the dog breed from your point of view;

  • Short paragraph about socialisation & health practices and your property (you can elaborate in detail about this in the breeding practices section later on);

  • Ideal puppy buyer for your dog

  • Any important information about deposits, transport, etc.

  • Short sentence encouraging your applicants to apply through RightPaw

Example introduction below (feel free to copy bits and pieces from it):

"Welcome to ABC Golden Retrievers, based 60-minutes' drive from Sydney on large acreage property. We have been breeding Golden Retrievers and Miniature Dachshunds for over 10 years and are members with Dogs NSW/Dogs Australia.

We are a boutique breeder only breeding one litter per year to serious applicants who are looking for a Golden Retriever as their family dog.

Golden Retrievers are amazing family dogs, loyal, highly affectionate and very smart. They need frequent love and attention; and require daily exercise (at least 60-minutes per day) as well as time to play in and around the home. While it's not a deal breaker - we do not recommend Golden Retrievers for an apartment - at a minimum we recommend that you have a townhouse or home with a backyard so a Golden has room to play and run around.

Our puppies are well-socialised. We perform puppy culture practices, which involves getting our puppies used to different motions, noises and surfaces as well as things like cuddles, carrying and touching of paws and ears.

Health is important to us, and all our breeding Goldens are hip and elbow tested, as well as received an eye check and certificate from our ophthalmologist and a heart certificate from our veterinary cardiologist. Our dogs are also DNA tested through Orivet.

Our puppies will receive a DNA check of their own (which all owners will receive), a health guarantee and a vet check at six weeks. They will receive their first vaccination, microchipping and their worming, flea & tick treatment will be up-to-date.

We look for responsible puppy buyers who are looking for a companion for life. Owning a Golden Retriever is a commitment for the life of the dog, and the ideal buyer will have knowledge of owning a larger dog, has done their research and is prepared financially to take care of a Golden Retriever. A puppy is not an impulse purchase - like a Christmas or Birthday present.

To secure a puppy from ABC Golden Retrievers, once we have reviewed your application on RightPaw and chosen you for a puppy, we will request a $500 non-refundable deposit to be paid at six weeks. We can transport puppies via road, air across Australia and to our international buyers - please note: this is at additional cost. Please inform us of this when you apply with us if this is needed.

If you are interested in applying for a puppy and you know that a Golden Retriever will be the right breed of dog for you, please apply through RightPaw and we will be in touch with you shortly"
